Automotive capacitors are produced in two groups: the ignition capacitors and the interference suppression capacitors. In the former group the preferred capacitors are: KPs-010 and KPs-014, for use in ignition devices for internal combustion engines of cars and motor vehicles. In the latter group of capacitors the preferred type is KPs-011, used to reduce interference in circuits of alternators, ignition coils and in other circuits of the electrical systems. These capacitors are manufactured on the basis of plastic or paper dielectric. The housings are made from metal cans with appropriately shaped handle (depending on the type and version) or without handle.

We would like to warn our customers against counterfeit KPs-014-1 automotive capacitors which have appeared on the market. In order to view the differences between genuine MIFLEX products and the counterfeit capacitors, please refer to the enclosed image.

Self-healing capacitors used for power electronic devices, in particular for commutation and protection of semiconductors as well as filtering and storing of energy.

They are manufactured using an aluminium case filled with oil-based compound, with terminals in the form of double faston tabs or M6 or M8 screws. Compliant with the European standard EN61071-1.
